Creating custom shortcuts for job descriptions

If you frequently open the same Invoice Verify job description, you can save yourself that step:

  1. Copy the shortcut of the Invoice Verify module from the program folder. (Right-click it and select Copy.)

  2. Paste the shortcut on your desktop by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting Paste.

If you prefer, you can paste the shortcut into your own program folder. To create your own program folder, right-click on your desktop and select New > Folder. Then type a name for your new folder. Double-click the folder to open it, and paste the shortcut there. (Please refer to Microsoft Windows Help if you need more detailed instructions for your operating system.)

  3. Right-click the shortcut and select Properties.

  4. Click the Shortcut tab.

  5. Type the job description name, in double quotes, at the end of the Target line.

  6. Optional: If you want the job to start automatically, add /s after the job name.

For example, on Windows XP you might change the Target line for a Invoice Verify shortcut to:

    "C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Bin\eiveri.exe" "C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\Jobs\Myjob.job" /s

  7. Optional: To close a module automatically when the job is finished, add /d as well (with a space between /s and /d).

  8. Click OK.

  9. Change the name of the shortcut to reflect the name of the module and the specific job description. To change the name, right-click on it, select Rename and type a new name.

Tip: If you want Windows to keep them in a particular order even when you view them as a list, give them names starting with "1)", "2)", etc.
