This info (in a different form) is repeated in SCG. So update that if you update this!
As the entire production process starts with and revolves around image files, image management is an important consideration when setting up your system and planning your solutions. A number of settings and features allow you to optimize image management, reducing the amount of image data sent across your network.
The policy is both a global policy and a solution policy. Here you can specify how images are to be saved.
Selecting maximizes accessibility and minimizes the need to rely on the network. You can also create several variations of each image, and access only the one needed for a certain activity. Using several images, each created for a specific purpose, increases production efficiency, particularly when sending images over a network with limited bandwidth. The different types of images are:
– the scanned image, which is very large if in color.
– automatically created for every image during Input. Used in Inspect and Verify.
black-and-white image, created from a color original used to aid classification and extraction during Sort and Extract.
– created from the different colors in a color original, used in Sort and Extract.
– an image that is optimized for barcode recognition. Used in Sort and Extract.
– a compressed version of the original, displayed in Inspect and Verify.
You can specify settings, settings, and settings in production tasks containing the Enhance activity. The diagram below shows the different types of images that can be created as documents are processed, and where they are stored and used in a system with remote scanning.
In an invoice solution that uses Invoice modules, thresholded images are saved temporarily on a different file server. See this separate diagram.
