Creating a field template

Note that this information applies to the fields used with document specifications (more information). Fields are also used when preparing invoice profiles (more information).

In order to create your own templates, special licensing is required.

You should always use templates for fields. Field templates save time when you need to use the same, or similar, field with many documents.

  1. On the Configuration tab of the Administration module, expand Templates.

  2. Right-click Fields and select New user-defined field template.

  3. In the Create a new field template dialog:

    • Select Select type and then choose one of the field types in the list.

    • Or, select Create from template to use a previously created template as a model for the new template.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Type a name for the field template (max. 80 characters) and press Enter.
