Creating a rule template

This procedure is an optional part of creating a field specification and creating a field template. Use it to set up validation for document specifications (more information). Validation settings are also available for invoice profiles (more information).

In order to create your own templates, special licensing is required.

Rule templates save time when you need to use the same, or similar, rules with many objects.

  1. On the Configuration tab of the Administration module, expand Templates.

  2. Right-click Rules and select New rule template.

  3. In the Create a new rule template dialog:

    • Select Create as type to create a new template based on the system's default template.

    • Or, select Create from template and choose an existing template as a model for the new one.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Type a name for the template (max. 80 characters) and press Enter.

  6. Now you can double-click the rule and:
