Perceptive Content as External Image Archive

Configuring Perceptive Content as external archive

If you are using Perceptive Content, you can choose to use your Perceptive Content installation as external image repository. This is enabled by setting to configuration parameter External Image Archive Type to P, which utilizes Perceptive Content as image repository.

When perceptive content is enabled via the P parameter value, the configuration parameter Enter External Archive URL represents the protocol://host[:port] name of the server hosting the PCR Connector.

When Perceptive Content is selected as External Image Archive the scanned invoice images reside in the Perceptive Enterprise Content Management System (ECM), a part of Perceptive Intelligent Capture (PIC).

The ECM DOCID is passed from PIC to PROCESSIT along with the invoice XML. PROCESSIT forwards any image requests to the PCR Connector via the Archive Servlet.

If Attachments exist in PROCESSIT for an invoice, the attachments are exported to ECM during IMPORT into Oracle E-Business Suite. They are associated with the parent DOCID and the assigned DOCID for the attachment is stored in PROCESSIT.

D4_PCR_URL

PCR Connector web service is preset to /rs/processit

Potential Error Handling for PIC integration

If any errors occur during export of files to ECM , a notification with the topic Export To External Archive Failure is sent to the superuser.

The superuser can open the notification and see details about the number of attachments, batch id and current status of the PCR Connector Service and a recommendation to either retry once configuration is corrected, or retry once network issues are resolved.

ERROR messages for all failed transfers are listed in the form:

  • File : my document.doc
  • Error: HTTP error code : 404 : Not Found - Server cannot find requested resource.

Available actions

Retry - Retry the export again up to max retries (3).

Cancel - Stop trying to export and continue the workflow. This is not recommended as assets may not end up in ECM.

The user can also wait for the notification to timeout and check the status of the service. If the PCR service is reachable, the process attempts to export any attachments that failed.

Enable PIC line pairing

To enable PIC line pairing capabilities, the following configurations must be created:

  1. Create a new Automatic Matching Rule Sequence that includes:
    • PO Line Number
    • Simple Match
    • Match Identify
    • Match All
  2. Set that new sequence as the Automatch rule sequence in Parameter Manager under Matching.
  3. Create a <DOCTYPE> mapping with the Mapping Tool that maps <LIT_PoLineNumber> to d4_invoice_lines.po_line_number.
