The Text string dialog

ClosedTo access this dialog:

ClosedWhen adding text to images during processing:

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. Under Process Navigation, click the desired process.

  3. In the Process area, click Process Design:

  4. In the Process area, create or open a Process Images process step.

  5. Select Add text to image and click Add.

  6. Open the parameter set by double-clicking Add text to image in the right pane.

  7. Under Text configuration, click the button. The Text string dialog is displayed.

ClosedWhen configuring root document names:

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. Select Tools > Collectors > XBOUND Collector for File System.

  3. Click +. The File System dialog is displayed.

  4. Deselect Use trigger files.

  5. Click the button.

Use these settings to add text to images during processing or when configuring the Collector for File System.

Left pane

Custom

  • Constant – A custom text. Specify your text in the right pane under Format/Value.

  • Scan folder name – This is set by the Collector for File System at runtime. The path is not used. (If the scan directory was C:\XBOUND\Import\Cache, only Cache is used.)

Time-based

  • Date – The date on which the text was added to the medium. Select the date format under Format/Value in the right pane.

  • Time stamp – A continuous, unique, accurate-to-the-millisecond timestamp. The format is fixed and cannot be changed.

System variables

  • User name – The current user name when the text is added. (The field in the Format/Value column in the right pane has no effect.)

  • Computer name – The name of the workstation on which the text is added. (The field in the Format/Value column in the right pane has no effect.)

  • System variable – Computer system variables. (ClosedMore information.)

    Under Microsoft Windows 7, use this procedure to display computer variables:

    1. Click Start.

    2. Right-click My Computer and select Properties.

    3. Click Advanced system settings.

    4. On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.

Process counters

  • Global counter – A global counter, which is specified in the Select System Counter dialog. The dialog is displayed when you drag this element to the right pane.

  • Process counter – A process counter, which is specified in the Select Process Counter dialog. The dialog is displayed when you drag this element to the right pane.

Document data

Right pane

Shows which elements will be included in the character string.

These columns are available:

  • Element Type – The element type. The options are available in the left pane.

  • Format/Value – Used to adjust some of the text elements.

  • Example – An output sample for the individual element.

  • XBOUND Values 1, 2, 3, and 4 – Values that come from the XBOUND system.
