Registering an activity in XBOUND

Native XBOUND activities are configured by adding process steps to a process and then configuring them.

However, some activities that are not part of the standard XBOUND installation must be registered and configured on the global level—or on the client or process level—before use. This creates a parameter set that is available further down in the hierarchy:

For example, the RCC Import Solution activity must be registered on the global level, creating a global parameter set.

Instructions

Use the this procedure to register an activity on the global, client, or process level:

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.

  2. Depending on what you want to do:

    • Select Tools > Global Parameter Sets.

    • Or right-click a client or process and select Parameter Sets.

  3. The (Global) Parameter sets dialog is displayed. Right-click in the left pane and select New Activity.

  4. The New Activity dialog is displayed. In Path to DLL, specify the DLL that implements the activity to add (for example xBoundActDOXImport.dll for the Import Solution activity).

  5. Adjust other settings in the New Activity dialog as needed for your activity and click OK.

  6. Optional: Click and edit the parameter set.

  7. Optional: Click and rename the parameter set.
