Incompatible projects and features

You cannot use the Project Merge Tool when:

  • The source project class and the destination project class have a different number of validation steps.

  • Any inherited fields, locators, and validation rules in the source class differ from those in the destination class. This prevents any issues with inherited elements.

If you attempt to merge two projects that are not compatible, an error is displayed.

Samples for content or layout classification are not merged.

The following features or global settings are not supported, and cannot be merged:

  • Classification samples for content and layout classification.

  • Classification settings.

  • Classification benchmark files.

  • Correction parameters.

  • Document Review customizations such as custom hot keys, shortcuts, and menu commands.

  • Document Review rules.

  • Document separation settings.

  • Foldering fields and configurations.

  • Online learning configuration - the user needs to manually enable online learning in the destination project.

  • Field Groups.

In addition to the above exceptions, the project script is also not merged. If there are global variables in the project script that are used in class scripts, the project script needs to be imported manually using copy and paste.
