XBOUND services manage all non-interactive (automatic) processes within XBOUND:

Runs the XBOUND collectors, thereby importing documents into XBOUND. You must add and configure collectors. To scale the system, you can run multiple services on a single server or on multiple servers. Tip: You can limit the data that a collector processes. | |
Runs the XBOUND activities that you assign to it. In the background, this service checks for available (ready) documents, checks them out for processing, and checks them in again after processing. The working folder, polling cycle, and relogin cycle can be specified in the Common Configuration Manager. To scale the system, multiple instances of each activity can be run simultaneously. Each one is started in its own xboundWorker process. Troubleshooting tip: To see which activity is behind each instance of xboundWorker.exe:

Application server for XBOUND web applications such as RCF Web Verification. Managing web applications describes how to register web applications in the XBOUND system. | |
Runs the XBOUND system agents that you assign to it. To scale the system, you can run multiple services on a single server or on multiple servers. | |

Offers one of two ways of running the XBOUND application server. (The other way to run XBOUND application server is as an XML Web Service in Internet Information Server (IIS).) These options are described in detail in XBOUND Installation Guide. If used, the XBOUND Platform service must be configured (see instructions). You can install and configure multiple instances of this service to achieve automatic load balancing or failover. | |

You can check these services in the view of the Process Monitor.
If you set up role-based privileges, the Technical User role must be assigned to the user account that runs these services.
