This topic describes one way of using templates while configuring processes.
Use the below procedure to create a template based on an existing process.
Any and all of the following settings are automatically included in the template:
Process steps
Security settings (rights)
Note: Security settings are only useful when the template is used in the same system. If you export a template, import it into another system, and then use it to create a process (or part of a process) in the other system, you must then adjust the rights in that process.
Process-level counters
The process does not need to contain any process steps. That means you can use this procedure as a way to copy rights, process design comments, or other items between processes.
Tip: Document types can be saved as separate templates. You can also create a template from a subset of process steps.
Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Process Designer.
Under , right-click a process and select . The dialog is displayed.
Type a name for the template.
Optional: Type a description to help you remember details. The description is displayed when you point to a template with the cursor.
Tip: To edit a description, right-click a template and select .
Select a group to save the template in.
Tip: You can create new groups and move templates between them afterward.
Click .
Click .
Templates are displayed in the right pane on the tab.
Tip: To find out which process was used to create the template, right-click a template and select . In the title of the dialog, the name of the original process is shown in parentheses.
