The Localization Manager is used to localize (translate) the XBOUND user interface into another language, or to adjust an existing translation.
You can also export and reimport a localization project.
After translating, it is time to implement and test your translation.
The toolbar has these buttons:
New XBOUND Translation Project | Creates a new translation project as described in Translating the XBOUND interface to a new language.
New Third-Party Translation Project | Creates a new translation project for a third-party user interface as described in Translating a third-party user interface to a new language.
Open | Opens an existing translation project.
Import Translation Project | Used when updating a translation, for example when a new version of XBOUND becomes available.
Save | Saves the current translation project.
Save as | Saves the current translation project with a new name.
Generate resource files | Generates satellite assemblies for XBOUND DLLs as described in Implementing and testing your translation.
Undo, Redo | Undo and redo functions for actions performed in the Translation column.
Import from Excel | Imports a translation project from a Microsoft Excel worksheet as described in Exporting and reimporting a localization project.
Filter |
Click the filter button and select one of the options:
When filtering is in effect, the button is darker than usual, showing that it is selected: When filtering is in effect, changes in the Translation column are not immediately filtered out. To refresh filtering, deselect and then reselect the same filter. When deselected, the filter button looks like this:
Expand all | Expands all of the nodes in the tree view.
Collapse all | Collapses all of the nodes in the tree view.
Change progress information | By default in the left pane you can see how many strings each item contains and how many of those are translated. To see percentages instead, click this button. Click the button repeatedly to toggle between the different ways that progress information is displayed.
Auto Translate | Inserts a translation that is automatically generated by Google Translate. Note: This provides a very rough translation. Careful editing is required. An internet connection is required.
Export to Excel | Exports a translation project to a Microsoft Excel worksheet as described in Exporting and reimporting a localization project.
Clear all translated values | Clears the Translation column.
Copy | Copies the strings from the source language into empty fields in the Translation column. (If there is already a string in the Translation column, it is not overwritten.)
Auto fill – reuse translations |
All empty fields in the Translation column that have identical original text are automatically filled in with existing translations of that text (if any). This is especially useful for short or often-used strings such as "OK", "Save As", etc. Note: This function is case sensitive. If the original text has different capitalization, or if the Translation cell already contains some text, the translation will not be copied. To deactivate the copying function, click the Auto fill button again. |
The file name of this plug-in (in case you need to add it to the XBOUND Management Center, for example) is xboundPlugInLocalizationManager.dll.
