Importing documents

This topic describes how to configure XBOUND to import scanned batches.

Adding a collector

Add a collector so that it can find and process the batch that you want to import. See Adding a collector.

Importing documents using one process step

Configure a Scan Documents process step. See Adding process steps to a process and Configuring a process step.

Importing documents using multiple process steps

When multiple Scan Documents process steps are used, you must configure them so that they do not try to process the same documents. Use the procedure described in Processing documents and media that meet specified criteria to configure each Scan Documents process step to process only documents that meet specific criteria.

Tip: The most flexible criterion to configure in the Scan Documents process step is the batch name.

What happens now?

The XBOUND Collect Service imports scanned documents into XBOUND using the collector that you configured. The Collect Service is one of several Windows services that coordinate document processing in the background. It is installed and started during installation. Ensure that the XBOUND Collect Service is running. (ClosedHow?)

  1. Select Start menu > Control Panel > (View By Icons) > Administrative Tools > Services.

  2. In the Services dialog, right-click XBOUND Collect Service and select Start or Restart.

Now you can trace the import progress and display documents in the Process Monitor.
