Assigning privileges manually

In XBOUND there are a number of predefined roles and predefined privileges. The easiest way to assign roles to your users and then assign privileges to those roles is to use the Security Wizard – see instructions. You can also do it manually as described below.

Tip: You can also add your own privilege definitions that can be queried by custom applications, and transfer them between XBOUND systems by exporting and importing them.

Use this procedure to assign privileges manually

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Security Manager.

  2. In the Console pane, expand Security Manager and then select Privilege Manager.

(If the Console pane is not visible on the left, select View > Console view.)

  3. Under Privileges, select the appropriate privilege.

  4. Click the Specify scope button (). The Specify Scope dialog is displayed.

  5. Select the objects to include and click OK.

  6. Under Scope – Access Control List, select the entry you just created and click the Change button ().

  7. In the Windows dialog that is displayed, adjust the users or groups, and click OK.
