Select a GL code

You can select a GL Code by following these steps.

  1. Open a document and if it is not already selected, click on the Lines tab.
  2. Select a line item from the table by selecting its check box.

    The line and its values are displayed in the fields below the table.

  3. To select a GL code, do one of the following:

    • Select a value from the GL Code list. This is a list of recently used GL codes for the corresponding business unit.

    • If there is no suitable GL code in the list, click Choose GL Code.

      The Choose GL Code window is displayed.

    1. To select a GL code, do one of the following:

      • Select a code from the Recent GL Codes list.

      • Select a code from the Favorite GL Codes list.

      • On the Select individual GL segments section select segments from the various lists at the bottom of the window.

        The hierarchy may be configured to populate automatically. In this case, select the top-level segment and any subsequent segments that have more than one choice.

    2. Optionally, click Save as favorite to make this GL code easier to select in the future.
    3. Click Set GL Code.

    The Choose GL Code window is closed and the GL code that you selected is applied to the corresponding line item.
