This topic describes the features and enhancements included in Kofax Import Connector 2.9.0.

OAuth improvements

You can access POP3, IMAP and MS Graph mailboxes over OAuth. The following OAuth grant types are available to access mailboxes:

  • Authorization code grant

  • Client Credentials grant

  • Resource Owner Password Credentials grant

OAuth support for POP3

You can access POP3 mailboxes over OAuth using the Authorization Code grant type. See the POP3 mailboxes help topic.

OAuth support for IMAP

You can access IMAP mailboxes over OAuth using the Authorization Code grant type. See the IMAP mailboxes help topic.

OAuth support for MS Graph

You can access MS Graph mailboxes over OAuth using the Authorization Code grant type, Resource Owner Password Credentials grant type or Client Credentials grant. See the MS Graph mailboxes help topic.

Federated Security environment

You can access mailboxes in a Federated Security environment.

  • Authorization code grant: Applies only to the MS Graph, IMAP and POP3 protocols.

  • Client Credentials grant: Applies only to the MS Graph protocol.

  • Resource Owner Password Credentials: Not supported.

Extract nested MSG and EML files

A new field, Extract nested messages, is added to extract nested EML and MSG files along with their attachments. The attached emails are segregated on the basis of their content type and extension. See the Import settings help topic.

The following options are available:

  • Import all attached emails as EML/MSG files

  • Extract nested messages

  • Extract nested messages and EML files

  • Extract nested messages, EML and MSG files (Default)

    Note All options above are also applicable to the EML/MSG files that are referenced in the XML files.

Message size limits extended

The limit for the maximum file size increased from 8 GB to 120 GB. The limit for the maximum storage size increased from approximately 64 GB to 250 GB. The following are added to Message Connector Configuration:

  • A new tab, Performance and limit, is added:

    • Storage blob cache duration

    • Message lock duration

    • Maximum blob download duration

  • A new field is added to the Trace settings tab:

    • Temporary files location

KFXConverter improvements

The following new parameters are added to KFXConverter settings:

  • To modify the fonts for the email body and header when converting EML files, use the EnableFontType and FontType parameters. See the Advanced conversion parameters help topic.

  • To skip the normalization of PDF files for specific PDF types, use the following parameters: InputPDFhasAttachments, InputPDFhasUnknownFonts, InputPDFisaValidPDFA and InputPDFisSigned.

Also, conversion of OpenOffice ODG files is supported.

EML/MSG files extraction

A new page, Test Email Conversion, is added to the Message Connector Monitor to extract different parts of EML/MSG files. See the Convert Email help topic.

Manage attachment of original email in notification

A new field, Include attachments, is added to exclude/include the attachment from the original email, when the original email is added to a notification email. See the Email Notifications and Archiving tab help topic.

Conversion using Apache OpenOffice and LibreOffice

Kofax Import Connector supports the conversion of Open Office documents using Libre Office and Apache Open Office. In Message Connector Configuration, you can select Open/Libre Office in MS Office and selected Open Office documents.

  • The Kofax Import Connector Administrator's Guide is now deprecated. All relevant sections are now available in the KC Plug-In help.

  • The release notes are converted from PDF to HTML format.

Conversion of JFIF files

Kofax Import Connector supports the conversion of JFIF format files.
