Web capture service
Web capture service (WCS) is a client-side application that enables Kofax TotalAgility to scan documents from a browser.
Web capture service also allows to import supported image types from the storage. For more information, see Scanning documents and Importing files.
The Web capture service installation is invoked when you start using the Scan create new job form, Scan form and any form with the web capture control. If Web capture service is already installed, no actions are required. If it is not installed or the version is outdated, a message displays prompting you to install or update the application .
After the installation is complete, you need to refresh the Scan client page to enable the scan controls and options. The
Web capture service icon
appears in the windows tray.
WCS compatibility mode
This setting allows older Web capture service versions to be used with new Capture client; however, this compatibility is limited, which means if the Web capture service version is lesser than the minimum compatible version, TotalAgility will require Web capture service client to be updated even with this mode enabled.
Web capture service compatibility option can be enabled only in TotalAgility Designer. Refer to the TotalAgility help for more information.
