Create PDF generation profiles

On the
Home page, click
System Settings >
PDF Generation Profiles.
The PDF Generation Profiles page appears.

Click
Add
.
The PDF Generation Profile page appears.

Enter a
Name for the PDF
generation profile.
The name cannot be more than 50 characters.

Optionally, enter a
Description for the PDF
generation profile.
The description cannot be more than 255 characters.

To select the mode of generation of recognized text in PDF (PDF/A)
format, select either option for
Text Export Mode:

Image Only: Exports images only from a PDF file.

Text and Images (default): Exports both text and images from a PDF file.
Note PDF Generation works properly with "Text and Images" mode only when the "Add Tags" option is available. Otherwise generated PDF contains OCR data (text) with extra spaces between letters, for example, "A R R O W C O M P O N E N T S O L U T I O NS".

To make the output PDF files PDF/A-compliant, click
Yes for
PDF/A Compliance.
(Default: No)
Note PDF/A is an ISO-standardized version of the Portable Document Format (PDF) specialized for the digital preservation of electronic documents. It targets the reliable long-time preservation of digital documents with text, raster images and vector graphics as well as associated metadata.

Select the
PDF Version for the
generated output PDF files.
TotalAgility supports the following versions of PDF:

To add PDF tags to the PDF document to specify document structure
and allow the extraction of page content, click
Yes for
Add Tags.
Tags are useful for identifying text and graphics, conversion to HTML and XML file formats, and interpretation by assistive software for the visually impaired.
Note The Add Tags option is only available if the text export mode is Text and Images. -
In the
Picture Settings group,
configure the following:
- Resolution: The resolution of PDF images. TotalAgility supports the following resolutions: 72, 96, 120, 200, 240, 300, 360, 400, and 600. (Default: 300)
- JPEG Quality: The JPEG quality for color pictures saved in the output file. The quality can range from 1% to 100%, with 100% being the best quality.

Based on the selected PDF version (default PDF version 1.7) and
the PDF/A compliance, the supported picture formats are displayed in the
Picture Format group.
Refer to the following table for the supported picture formats.

- In the Compression group, click Yes for Use Compression to reduce the file size.
- Click OK.
