Modify a String Substitution

Since string substitutions can be modified for both an Address Evaluator and a Local Fuzzy Database, you need to first open the relevant properties window before you can modify any string substitutions.

You can modify a string substitution by following these steps:

  1. In the list of string substitutions, select the row to be modified.
  2. If necessary, type the new text that forms a possible input locator result or a database lookup text search string in the Search Text box.

    Tip The search text should be unique and longer than the replacement text.

  3. If necessary, type the new text that replaces the Search Text value for database comparison in the Replacement Text box.
  4. Click Modify.
  5. Optionally, repeat the previous steps to modify additional string substitutions.
  6. Optionally, click OK to save your string substitutions modifications and close the properties window.
  7. Save the changes to your project.
