Interpolating a table

Use table interpolation to extract the table text data from a document into a table field instead of manually specifying every row and every cell of the table field. You can create a row and lasso the table text data from the document for each cell of that row and then press the Interpolate button. This will search for the similar rows that appear to be in the same table and automatically create new rows with the corresponding document text filled into those rows. The process can be repeated to find more rows.

If there are multiple tables printed on the document, you can create two rows in the table field and lasso the data for the first and last rows of the table then select both rows so that when Interpolating, it will stop at the last row and does not search the remainder of the document text for more rows.

  • To use the table interpolation feature, you must select the start row. You can select end row if you want to interpolate between two rows. If you select two rows, make sure the selected rows are in consecutive sequence.

  • If you select non-consecutive rows or more than two consecutive rows, the Interpolate action with the table interpolate button will be disabled. Upon selecting valid rows, the interpolate button is enabled.

  1. Define a single row or two rows manually.
    1. Select the row where you want interpolation to start. This can be an existing row with invalid data or a newly added row.
    2. Select the last row where you want the interpolation to end. This can be a table row on the same page of the first row, or a table row on a different page.

You can also select two adjacent rows on a table field.

Interpolation will only work if zones from the image are associated with the table cells.

  2. Click Interpolate Rows.

You must select one or more table rows to use for interpolation; otherwise, the button is not available.

    • When you select a single row, interpolation occurs from the selected row of the selected table field through all rows of all tables following the selected row.

    • When you select the first row and last row, or two consecutive table rows, interpolation occurs from the first selected row to the second one.
