This topic summarizes changes introduced to the product in Kofax PSIsafe Desktop 12.2.0.

Prerequisite changes

This version of Kofax PSIsafe Desktop requires NET Framework 4.8, and no longer has a dependency on the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable package.

Client Update Routine

The client update routine previously available in PSIsafe Desktop versions 12.1 and earlier is now discontinued.

  • The client update routine is replaced with a version-sensitive dialog message that prompts a user to download the latest client from a customized URL.
  • The customized URL is provided by Kofax Cloud Services, and appears when a PSIsafe Desktop client version is lower than the detected PSIsafe Desktop server version.
  • In cases where the PSIsafe Desktop client version is higher than PSIsafe Desktop server version, the user is prompted to install a PSIsafe Desktop client that matches the current PSIsafe Desktop server version.

Atalasoft upgrade

The Atalasoft OCR engine is upgraded from Atalasoft 11.2 (Tesseract) to Atalasoft 11.4 (OmniPage).
