Known issues
This section contains information about potential issues that you can encounter while using Kofax Power PDF for Mac 5.0. Workarounds are provided, as applicable.
Niederländisch appears as the default OCR language on the German UI
1925768: When the application language is set to German, and when exporting a document to .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, or .rtf format, the document conversion settings dialog box selects Niederländisch by default.
Workaround: Manually clear Niederländisch from the list and select Deutsch.
RTF files look empty when opened with TextEdit
1924135: TextEdit cannot handle RTF documents saved by Kofax Power PDF for Mac with the True Page option but displays those as empty documents.
Workaround: Set a more advanced editor as default for the RTF format, such as Microsoft Word.
Sorting does not work in the Manage Trusted Identities dialog box
1920561: When using Trusted Identities on the Security tab of the ribbon, clicking on the column headers does not affect the sort order of the list. For details on managing identities, refer to the Manage Trusted Identities section in the online help.
List of opened files is missing from the Dock
1920491: When Kofax Power PDF for Mac has multiple documents opened and you right-click the Dock, the context menu does not include the list of opened files.
Typewriter tool may split the words while resizing
1917262: When using the Typewriter tool and resizing the frame re-flows the text in multiple lines, Kofax Power PDF for Mac may break apart words by the end of the line.
Tag creation does not work on form fields
1900007: When working with the Tag panel and trying to assign a tag to the selected form field, the "Create Tag from Selection" command appears disabled. For details on tagging, refer to the Tag panel section in the online help.
Tag creation does not work on images
1864302: When working with the Tag panel and trying to assign a tag to the selected image, the "Create Tag from Selection" command appears disabled. For details on tagging, refer to the Tag panel section in the online help.
The eraser tool does not work as expected
1863757: When using the eraser tool on a pencil markup, the tool clears some parts of the drawing but misses other sections. For details on comments and markups, refer to the About commenting a PDF section in the online help.
The font list does not show the preview
1862672: When using the Typewriter command on the Edit tab of the ribbon, the font list of the Text Format panel displays font names in plain text, not showing the font face preview. For details on text formatting, refer to the Text Format panel section in the online help.
Search and Redact opens all files in the result list
1862009: When running Search and Redact on a folder, Kofax Power PDF for Mac opens each file from the result list, regardless of whether it has redaction marks selected or not.

Search does not work independently on multiple document tabs
1861933: When multiple documents are opened and using Search Current on the Home tab of the ribbon, all documents share the same search history and settings. The Search dialog box does not save settings per document. For details on search, refer to the About searching section in the online help.
Not all form fields are recognized in the document
1861522: FormTyper does not find all the fields when processing certain forms containing text fields. For details on FormTyper, refer to the About PDF forms section in the online help.
Dragging clip art objects to the document may cause the handles to disappear
1857700: After dragging a clip art object from the Clip art panel to the document, some become unavailable for editing. Handles disappear, and users cannot move, rotate, or resize the clip art as а whole.
Workaround (partial): Click the clip art you just dragged to the page. Some clip arts become available, but others remain passive. For details on clip arts, refer to the Clip Art panel section in the online help.
Image object is not selectable when text object covers it
1849228: Both images and text objects are selectable when using the Edit tool on the Edit tab of the ribbon, but users cannot select image objects entirely covered by a text object.
Workaround: First, move the text object to a temporary area, then select the image.
Watermark preview does not reflect the selected page range
1844058: The Apply Watermark dialog box preview does not adjust to the specified page range. The preview does not show the watermark as you drag the preview page slider into the range.
Workaround: While editing the page range, press Enter. For details on watermarks, refer to the Watermarks section in the online help.
Form field buttons support only PDF files as icon sources
1838007: When creating a form field button and browsing for an icon file from the Options page of the Button Properties dialog box, users are limited to using PDF format. For details on form fields, refer to the Forms section in the online help.
Users cannot drag text objects to another page
1837831: When using the Edit command on the Edit tab of the ribbon, users cannot drag text objects to another page. Dragging text objects works only within the page.
Workaround: Use the standard clipboard features. Cut the text object from the source page, use the Edit or Select tool on the target page, then paste the text object there. For details on editing, refer to the About the Edit tool section in the online help.
Justified paragraph setting is missing
1837830: When using the Typewriter command on the Edit tab of the ribbon, the Justified control is missing from the Paragraph section of the Text Format panel. For details on text formatting, refer to the Text Format panel section in the online help.
Only the AIFF format supported by the Audio Attachment tool
1837759: Users can browse only for AIFF files with .aiff and .aif file extensions when using the Audio Attachment command on the Comment tab of the ribbon. Other audio formats, such as MP3 and WAV, are not supported. For details on attachments, refer to the About attachments section in the online help.
