The Sample documents dialog

ClosedTo access this dialog for a specific document

  1. Open the document specification editor.

  2. On the Classification tab, click the uppermost specification in the Document hierarchy.

  3. In the right pane, click the Sample documents tab.

ClosedTo access this dialog for an entire solution

  1. On the Configuration tab, expand Solutions and then the solution you are working with.

  2. Click Sample documents.

Some of the settings and controls depend on how you access this dialog. ClosedThree things are available only in the Sample documents solution overview.

Refresh

Refreshes the list of sample documents.

Batch specification

Displays only sample documents for this batch specification.

Document specification

Displays only sample documents for this document specification.

Add documents

Adds sample documents from images that that you produced – one document per image file.

Add multipage

Adds one a sample document. If you select multiple image files, then the document will have multiple pages.

Delete

Deletes the selected sample document(s). ClosedConsiderations:

This deletes individual sample documents. Sample documents remain in a solution even when the document specification they are used with is deleted. However, if you delete an entire solution, all sample documents within the solution are deleted.

Validate

Opens the Validate classification dialog.

Select all

Selects all sample documents.

Reassign

Allows changing which document specification is assigned to a sample document.

Clear OCR

OCR data is saved with each sample document. If you switch languages or if you switch interpretation engines, you need to clear the previous OCR results and repeat the tasks that you used the sample documents for. To clear the OCR data, select the sample documents and click Clear OCR.

Sample set

Allows you to divide your sample documents into two groups, one for training and the other for validation.

Select one or more sample documents and click Sample set. Then select Training or Validation, and click OK.

A table displays the following information for the sample documents created for the specification:

Name

The name of the sample document, which is automatically generated.

#Pages

The number of pages in the document.

Last result

The result of the last classification validation.

Document specification

The document specification that is assigned to the sample document. Click Reassign to change.

Note: This column is only displayed when you open the Sample documents dialog Closedfor an entire solution.

  1. On the Configuration tab, expand Solutions and then the solution you are working with.

  2. Click Sample documents.

Sample set

Tells you whether the sample document is for training or for validation (see above).

Created

The date the sample document was created.

Modified

The date the sample document was last modified.

Page

Controls for browsing through multi-page documents.

Edit pages

Opens the Edit pages dialog, allowing you to reorder and delete multi-page sample documents. Available only when you select a multi-page document from the sample documents list.

Add keyword to classifier

Opens the Add keyword to new or existing classifier dialog. (Requires you to specify Page logic first.)

View interpretation data

Displays OCR data for the entire page.

Display search area for current classifier or field

If the search area for the selected classifier or field is specified and is smaller than the whole page, you can display, move, and resize the area.
