Selecting which country and language to use for a document specification

Important: In RCC all document specifications in a solution must have one and the same language setting. In addition, this language setting must correspond to the language specified in the solution policy.

The country and language settings for a document specification are copied from the solution policy (see Selecting which country and language specifications to use when processing documents). If you need to change these settings for a document specification, use this procedure:

  1. Open the document specification properties for the document you are working with.

  2. Expand Countries and languages.

  3. Under Countries, select which country this type of document can originate from. Normally only one country is selected.

The language is set by default and based on the language that is spoken in the chosen country. If necessary, you can edit the Languages settings.

Important: Specify the same country and language for all documents within the same solution specification.

Note: If you already used sample documents with this document specification, you need to clear the OCR results and repeat the task that you used the sample documents for. In the Sample documents dialog, select the sample documents and click Clear OCR.

Note about country and language policies

Solution policies are copied from the global policies that are in place when a new solution is created.

Solution policies override global policies and are themselves copied to subsequently created document specifications within the solution. (Exception: If the specification is based on a template, the template settings apply.)

If you change country and language solution policies after a document specification is created, it has no effect on previously created specifications, as there is no link between the two. You must make these changes manually to each document specification.
