The User management policy dialog: General settings

ClosedTo access this dialog:

  1. On the Configuration tab, expand System specifications.

  2. Select Global policies.

  3. In the right pane, double-click User management.

Use these settings to adjust user management settings.

Warning

If Basic user management is enabled, you cannot later switch to None or None, but password-protect administrative activities.

Use Windows Authentication

Enables the use of Windows domain users or user groups.

Level of user management

  • ClosedNone

    Anyone can use Capture Components Administration without any restrictions or login.

  • ClosedNone, but password-protect administrative activities

    Only the user who is specified in the Administrator part of the dialog can modify the system configuration using Capture Components Administration.

  • ClosedBasic

    Users and user groups must log on to access the system. They can open only solutions.

  • Role-based – not supported in this version of RCC.

Administrator (available only if None, but password protect administrative activities is selected)

User

The name of the user who manages Capture Components Administration.

New password

The password that is needed to access Capture Components Administration.

Confirm password

Confirmation of the password needed to access Capture Components Administration.
