Using Windows domain members as users: Overview

It is possible to enable Windows authentication through Active Directory and to specify users and user groups in your Active Directory domains as users. Then users do not need to log on to Capture Components Administration separately; they are automatically logged on to the system when they log on to Windows.

To use this option:

  1. Basic user management must be selected.

  2. Enable Windows authentication.

  3. Specify the type of authentication individually for each user and user group.

Note: Nested Windows authentication groups (groups within groups) are not supported.

Note: Using Windows authentication to access the databases is another matter. See XBOUND Installation Guide for instructions.
