User management: Overview

Set up Capture Component Administration users as described below.

Note: For security reasons, information about defined users cannot be exported. You must re-define all users when you install a new version of Capture Component Administration.

  1. Determine the level of user management to use for these modules. (Information about the levels of user management that are available.)

  2. Adjust the level of user management and related settings.

  3. If basic user management is enabled, define a user.

  4. If basic user management is enabled, determine whether you want to use user groups in your system. If so, define user groups.

  5. Optional: Use Windows authentication.

Tip: Ensure at least one user (a system administrator) is assigned all rights.

Note: If basic user management is enabled, you can control which actions users and user groups are allowed to do. (Information about user rights.) These settings are specified when defining users and user groups.
