Enabling Windows authentication

Note: It is also possible to use Windows authentication when accessing the databases; see The Runtime system database settings dialog.

Built-in accounts are selected by default for both users and user groups of the Capture Components Administration. If you want to enable Windows authentication, basic user management must be selected.

Note: Nested Windows authentication groups (groups within groups) are not supported.

To enable Windows authentication via Active Directory for Capture Components Administration:

  1. On the Configuration tab, expand System specifications.

  2. Select Global policies.

  3. In the right pane, double-click User management.

  4. In the User management policy dialog, select Use Windows Authentication. (Basic user management must be enabled for this to have any effect.)

  5. Select the type of authentication individually for each user and user group.
