Inspection activity

This activity is used to configure how operators will examine documents, rearrange documents and sheets, classify or cancel documents, etc. See Inspecting documents.

If you need to add this activity to the XBOUND Process Designer, the file to add is xboundActInspectClient.dll. (For instructions, see the XBOUND Help topic Adding an activity to the Process Designer.)

ClosedImportant limitations:

These settings are available when configuring the Inspection activity:

Parameter Set

Solutions imported from Capture Components Administration. In the drop-down list, solutions imported on the global and client levels are followed by [Global] and [Client] respectively. Solutions imported on the process level are displayed without an extension.

Select the parameter set (solution) you want to use for this activity.

Important: In a process that uses Knowledge Processing, all activities prior to the Knowledge Processing step must use the same Parameter set.

After you select a parameter set (solution), the following tabs and settings become available.

General

Format to display when multiple formats are available – In XBOUND a root document can be associated with media of multiple formats, for example TIFF, JPEG, and PDF format for each page. During Inspection, only one image per front page and one image per back page (if any) are displayed. This setting determines which format to display.

If the root document does not contain media of the selected format, another format is displayed.

Allow processing multiple root documents – If selected, two or more root documents can be selected in the XBOUND Document Manager for Inspection. Advantage: Subsequent root documents are loaded and cached in the background. This means that when you close one root document, the next one can be loaded quickly. We recommend selecting this setting. You can also specify in which order to load these root documents, either by process step or XBOUND sequence.

Show message box at end of batch – If selected, a message dialog is displayed when you come to the end of the batch (after you finish inspecting its documents). This dialog asks whether to save and route the documents.

Inspection

Optional: Adjust the keyboard shortcut used when inspecting documents.

Navigation

Automatic navigation in classification mode – Specify whether the system opens the next sheet or the next invalid document when you are finished classifying the current document.

Optional: Adjust the keyboard shortcuts used when moving among documents and sheets.

Current selection

Optional: Adjust the keyboard shortcuts for when working with the currently selected document.

Details view

Optional: Adjust the keyboard shortcuts used in the Details view.

You can import or export settings from this activity using these buttons in the Parameter Set dialog:

Import button

Imports settings from an XML file that was previously created using Export.

Export button

Exports the settings to an XML file. Specify the file name and location. You can then import the XML file to get the same settings.

Tip: To speed up loading of root documents, add a Process Images step before Inspection, and configure the Create thumbnails function to create thumbnail preview images. See XBOUND Help for instructions.
