Defining the processing order of business rules

If you have a process with two Verification process steps, you may want to have a different processing order for each one. Configuring different business rules for each process step and defining the processing order for each business rule can help you further customize your system.

Note: This procedure does not apply to Web Verification, where the processing order does not matter.

  1. Using the XBOUND Management Center, open a console containing the Validation Designer. (For information about working with consoles, see XBOUND Help.)
  2. Under Process Navigation, select a process.
  3. Click the Check out button ().

  4. Select File > Open.

  5. In the Open business rule group or form dialog, select a business rule group to open and click OK.

  6. Click an item under Document types. The business rules defined for that item are then displayed in the right pane, under Business logic.

  7. Under Business logic, click the arrows () to specify the order in which the business rules are executed.

Or click in the Index column and change the index number (order).

Tip: Get an overview of business rule groups and their process step assignments in the Assign process steps dialog. From there you can also add, delete, or edit business rule groups, as well as change their processing order.
