  6. Select Advanced > Scanner control.

Use these settings to specify scanner control settings for a SCSI interface:

Double feed detect

Double feed detect

Detects if more than one page at a time enters the scanner. An error message indicates a paper jam, and the scan operator must check which pages to put back in the document feeder for rescanning.

Normal

Uses the default method of double-feed detection.

Thickness

Detects double feed based on the thickness of the paper. This is appropriate when each page being scanned has the same thickness. The thickness that is expected is the one most recently calibrated (see below).

Length

Detects double feed based on the length of the paper. The scanner stops if the scanned image length is 10% longer than the length of the paper selected in Paper size settings. This is appropriate when each page being scanned has the same length.

Calibrate thickness

Calibrates the thickness of the paper to be scanned. Only used when Thickness is also selected.

Double feed sensitivity

How sensitive the scanner is when detecting and correcting the areas above.

Endorser capability

Manual endorse capable

Shows whether the selected scanner is capable of manually and/or automatically endorsing pages as they are scanned in the Input activity. These settings are not editable here. However, if they are selected, you can enable the endorser in the Production task dialog: Endorser options.

Auto endorse capable

Additional settings

Scan time out (seconds)

How long the scanner waits before reporting that the document feeder is empty.

ScanAhead

Activates ScanAhead. The scanner stores more information in its internal buffer. This allows scanning at higher speeds, but causes the scanner to respond more slowly when signalled to stop.

Panel controlled

The scanner’s control panel settings override other settings, if they conflict.

The dialog has other settings.
