Unlocking invoice configuration data

While a user is working in an Invoice module, objects that the user is working with are locked. This prevents other users from changing the object.

Also, if an Invoice module causes a program error, or if there is a power failure while the system is in use, some of the objects can become locked. Objects that were locked while a user is using an Invoice module are unlocked the next time the user starts the module. It is normally not necessary to unlock objects manually.

If it is necessary to manually unlock objects, use the below procedure. (Exception: Unlock invoices using the procedures described in Searching for documents and What you can do with objects found in Document searches.)

Note: Unlocking objects can take some time if the database is large.

  1. Using the Invoice Manager module, select Administration > Unlock database.

  2. Select the type of object you want to unlock from the Objects box. You can unlock any of these objects:

    • Invoice profiles

    • Invoice definitions

    • User definitions

    • Job descriptions

  3. Settings in the Unlock box depend on which object you selected in the previous step. If enabled, you can:

  4. Select All to unlock all of the selected objects in the database.

  5. To unlock a single invoice profile and objects connected to it, select Single invoice profile and select the invoice profile you want to unlock from the drop-down list.

  6. To unlock all of the selected objects connected to a single invoice profile, select Connected to single invoice profile and select the invoice profile you want from the drop-down list.

  7. Click Unlock.
