Statuses: Overview

A status is assigned to each field, document, compound document, and batch processed in the system. The status of a document is influenced by the statuses of fields on that document, and in turn, a document's status influences the status of the batch or compound document it belongs to. Statuses refer to the next action to take place on an object, and are dependant on where they are in the production process and how they need to be processed.

All documents follow a certain flow through the system depending factors such as the type of solution they belong to. Documents based on an invoice document specification template leave the main production flow after the Extract activity, and are then processed by the Invoice Interpret module. While being processed in these modules, invoices receive invoice-specific statuses.

For more detailed information on the three different production flows and their respective statuses please see:

The system keeps track of where documents and invoices are by using status information, and you can use this information in the same way. In the Administration module, you can use the Document searches dialog to find documents with a specific status. The Invoice-specific statuses are visible in their respective modules (see Search options for invoices: Status), and their corresponding document status is updated accordingly and visible in Document searches.

In the Production module, the document status is displayed under the thumbnail image. In the Invoice Verify module, the statuses of the individual fields are also displayed. For more information on the different field statuses, refer to:

Important

The term "status" is also used to describe the current condition of configuration settings for specifications and definitions. These configuration statuses should not be confused with the production statuses described above. Configuration statuses indicate, for example, if something is missing, has been altered or needs to be updated. For more information on configuration statuses, refer to:
