The Service options dialog

ClosedTo access this dialog:

  1. Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the DOCUMENTS Bin folder (default location: C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Bin) and double-click the RSServiceConfig.exe file.

  2. The Service setup dialog is displayed. Click Service options.

 

These settings are available when you use the built-in configuration tool to configure the ReadSoft Production service.

Note: The tool is a beta version and is not working satisfactorily. Follow these manual instructions, instead.

Use these settings when configuring the ReadSoft Production service:

Heartbeat wait time

How often (in seconds) the client (the Production module) needs to say that it is "alive", which happens when a document or batch is saved. If it does not do so, it is terminated by the service.

Shutdown wait time

How long (in seconds) the service should wait for the client (the Production module) to shut down before forcing it to shut down.

Restart wait time

How long (in seconds) the service should wait, if the process stops responding, before trying to restart the application.

Maximum number of restarts

The maximum number of restarts for each process.

Logging

Activates service logging to the Windows Event Log. This is useful for troubleshooting Windows services.
