The Service setup dialog

To access this dialog:ClosedUsing Windows Explorer, navigate to the DOCUMENTS Bin folder (default location: C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Bin) and double-click the RSServiceConfig.exe file.

These settings are available when you use the built-in configuration tool to configure the ReadSoft Production service.

Note: The tool is a beta version and is not working satisfactorily. Follow these manual instructions, instead.

Use these settings to configure the ReadSoft Production service:

Service options

Opens the Service options dialog.

Service items

The service items (collections of settings) in your existing service configuration. All of the other settings apply to the selected item.

Add

Adds a service item (a collection of service settings) to your existing service configuration.

Delete

Deletes the selected service item from your service configuration.

Solution

The solution that the selected service item is set up to process.

Repetitions

How many times to repeat the selected service item (collection of settings) before restarting. If this setting is empty, it means to repeat forever.

Parallel threads

How many parallel instances of the Production module to run.

Tasks

The production tasks that the service item is set up to run.

Max. batches

How many batches to process. This is left empty, the process continues until there are no more batches.

Adds a new task to the current service item. After adding a production task, use the dropdown list to adjust which one it is.

Note: Only production tasks that contain only automatic activities can be set up to run as a Windows service. (Production tasks that include manual activities cannot run in a Windows service.) Therefore, only those production tasks are available to choose from.

Deletes the selected task.

Moves the selected task up in the list.

Moves the selected task down in the list.

Save

Saves the configuration to your RSProductionService.exe.config.behaviour file. Closed(Where can I find this file?)

This file is usually found here: C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Bin

If there are several Bin folders, or you are having trouble finding the file, Windows Registry can tell you where it is located:

  1. Click Start and then Run.

  2. Type Regedit and click OK.

  3. Locate the ImagePath attribute in the My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\ReadSoft Production folder:
