Location of log files

Administration and Production modules

The exact location of the log files depends on the operating system. To find where log files are stored, look in the Logging settings.

DOCUMENTS creates a subdirectory structure in that directory: ReadSoft AB\DOCUMENTS\Logs\<date>

Example if you are using Windows 7:

Users
<UserName>
AppData
ReadSoft AB
Logs
DOCUMENTS
Local

Invoice modules

You can find Invoice-related log files and crash dumps in a subdirectory of Closedthe Log folder.

Default location in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003: C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Log

Default location in the newer operating systems: C:\Users\Public\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Log

FYI, spread-out log files is in the backlog (PBI 126).

A new subdirectory is created the first time an error occurs on any day. The subdirectory name is EHLog-mm-dd-yyyy, where mm = month, dd = day, and yyyy = year.

The error log file name is the same as the folder it is in, with the addition of -HHMMSShh, where HH = hour, MM = minute, SS = second, and hh = hundredths of a second.

Examples of error log file names and paths:

In Windows XP and Windows Server 2003: C:\Program Files\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Log\EHLog-5-31-2011\EHLog-5-31-2011-12043634.log

In the newer operating systems: C:\Users\Public\ReadSoft\DOCUMENTS\Log\EHLog-5-31-2011\EHLog-5-31-2011-12043634.log

Viewing log files using a web browser or XML viewer (applies to Administration and Production module logs)
