Use this procedure to have FORMS help you find appropriate adjustment objects on your form and automatically create adjustment fields.
This procedure is highly recommended if you plan to use flexible forms functionality.
If there are any stray marks on the form, erase them.
To ensure that conflicting objects are not selected on the form definition, define all other fields before you use this command. (Normally adjustment fields are defined first. However, when you generate automatic adjustment fields, you do it last.)
Even if you cannot define the other fields first, you must define at least one field before you proceed.
Select Edit ð Field ð Generate automatic adjustment fields.
If adjustment fields already exist in the form definition, FORMS displays a message. You can choose to keep the existing adjustment fields and proceed, delete them and proceed, or cancel the command.
Unless you see a message to the contrary (FORMS notifies you if it cannot find enough adequate adjustment objects), up to twenty five adjustment fields (including those that may have been defined traditionally) are created in the form definition. Examine each of them, ensuring that they are not...
...grouped too closely together.
...made up of multiple objects that are touching.
...made of an object that can vary from form to form.
These are signs of unsuitable adjustment fields. See examples.
Delete such adjustment fields and select other adjustment objects manually.
