Note: This topic describes only one type of log file. Other types relate to system errors.
When you interpret image files, you can select Save log file in the Configure image file source and destinations dialog in an Interpret job description, causing Interpret to save log information to a text file. The information includes:
The date and time you ran the job
The name of the job description and many details of it
The names of the image files interpreted
Statistics on how many files were found and identified, and more
If Save log file is selected, you can click Browse and specify a directory and file name for the log file. The default is the source directory plus \log. If the specified directory does not exist, the program creates it.
Log files must not be saved directly to the directory indicated as the source of the forms to be interpreted. If you try this, the program moves the log file to the \error directory and stops the job.
These If log exists options are available:
|
Append |
Appends a new log at the end of any existing log file with the file specified name. You can see which session the log information is from because the job name, index, date and time are written there. |
|
New name |
the program asks you to indicate a new file name If a file with the specified name already exists at the time the log is to be written, the user is prompted to specify a new file name. |
|
Overwrite |
Any existing file with the specified name is overwritten by the new log file. |
|
Auto name |
Uses the specified name, but with a unique extension*, namely .mii, where:
* Any extension you specify in the Log file name box is ignored. |
