Note: This topic describes only standard error logs. There is another type of log for interpreted image files, and a third for status errors in sets or batches.
When a system error occurs in any FORMS module, FORMS creates a new error log file. (Location and file name.)
Often, a single problem may result in multiple errors. Each error is written to a separate error log file. When an error occurs, open and read all error log files that were created at the time of the error. Otherwise, you may miss important information.
When an error occurs during scanning, the error log file can contain information that comes directly from the scanner interface. This information may appear in a different language than your FORMS installation.
Normally, FORMS only logs serious errors, but you can have it log all errors, if desired, by changing the value of WriteAllErrorsToLog in Ehlocal.ini) from 0 to 1.
The record contains the error code and message, as well as the date, time, current statistics, software version and build number, operating system and the type of database (local or network). Use this information for diagnostics, and refer to it if you contact ReadSoft Support.
