Checking identification: Overview

If two or more form definitions in a job have identical adjustment fields, forms could potentially be incorrectly identified during production. Checking identification helps you determine which adjustment fields you need to fine tune to avoid this problem. As a result, conflicting adjustment fields can be fixed before you go into production. The results also indicate which images cannot be identified with a form definition and why.

In Scan or Interpret jobs, use the Check identification button in the Identification settings dialog to check the identification of example form images against the form definitions the job contains. Both positive and negative image examples are compared with each form definition in the job, and the results indicate which adjustment fields are identified incorrectly. This helps you ensure that the forms that are to be processed together can be identified properly. This process is particularly useful when using flexible forms.

Do the following to check that forms can be identified in a job.

  1. Prepare forms to use when checking identification in a job.

  2. Check that forms can be identified in a job by using example forms.
