The field statuses below are listed here in their hierarchical order, from highest status to lowest status, which is the same as saying from no error to the worst error. Empty (not filled in) fields have no status.
Complete. Fields with this status have been interpreted and validated without error, based on the form definition you created using the Manager. Such fields normally do not require verification, which is why Complete is not selected by default in the Verify job description.
Incomplete. This status is given to fields that, based on the form definition, require field complements. More info.
Retype (or Validation retype). Fields with this status contain no errors detected by FORMS. However, you indicated in the field definition (as an option) that the field needs to be retyped for safety’s sake before the data is transferred to the target computer. More info. FORMS compares the data you type with the data it interpreted and tells you if there is any discrepancy.
Validation error. 1) One or more of the validation conditions you defined for the field are not met, so you must examine and possibly correct the data; or 2) you specified a set sum validation for a set definition, and the sum is not correct.
Mass verify. When you define a mark field, character field or object field in your form definition, one option is to select Mass verify if you want to check the values FORMS interprets for the field. If you did so, Interpret gave the field this status.
Then, when you select Mass verify in the Verify job description, the program displays the data for your confirmation.
Interpretation error. This is the lowest status. You must manually type characters FORMS could not interpret.
In FORMS documentation, the names of statuses are capitalized and italicized, as above.
