Starting and stopping Windows services

These services are a part of INVOICES:

Service name

Description

INVOICES Interpret

Runs the Interpret module as a service.

INVOICES Transfer

Runs the Transfer module as a service.

To start a Windows service:

  1. Configure the service(s) that you want to run.

  2. Select Start menu > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.

  3. Locate the service you want to start in the list.

  4. Optional: Double-click the service and specify the start-up behavior of the service (Manual, Automatic, Disabled).

  5. Right-click the service and select Start. The service starts after a few seconds.

Stopping the services

Use the same procedure as above, but select Stop.

If the Interpret or Transfer service is frozen, it can take up to five minutes to stop the process, depending on the MinutesToWaitBeforeTerminate setting in Eilocal.ini.

Note

When using services, specify UNC (Universal Naming Convention) paths in Eilocal.ini, like this:

[Directory]
GlobalPath=\\computer-name\shared-folder-name

Example:

[Directory]
GlobalPath=\\Sth-test\Program Files\ReadSoft\INVOICES

With some of the newer operating systems you cannot use the computer's IP address but only the host name.
