Note: There are separate instructions for optimizing simple line item tables, optimizing bank account tables, and optimizing tax tables.
INVOICES can capture data from complex line item tables containing sub-headers, such as those typically found on purchase order invoices that cover two or more purchase orders.
Optimization is often required the first time a new invoice with sub-headers enters the system. Use the procedure described below.
Important: If a line item table appears on multiple invoice pages, optimize the table on the first page it appears on.
Define the line item template as usual, and include the sub-header as one of the line item fields.
In the Line item learning dialog, right-click the sub-header field and select Set as sub-header. (Tip: See Examples of sub-headers if you need help finding an appropriate sub-header.)
Sub-headers are not captured (interpreted). They are only reference points.
You can also define complex line item tables in Verify. To do this, PossibleSubHeader must be set to 1 in Eiglobalextra.ini. However, note that when using Verify this way, there cannot be other fields on the same row as the sub-header.
The German country profile can also automatically capture complex line item tables without optimization or assistance from the Verify operator. To make use of this feature, specify the DCL file, LineItem.DCL, in the [DCL] section of Eiglobalextra.ini.
