Business Logic: Overview

Business rules are used by Verification for validation purposes. (Business rules are based on business rule templates.)

The Validation Designer is used to define the business rules for Verification process steps. This is done by:

• adding (importing) a business rule library

• creating a business rule group, and adding business rules to the group

• assigning business rule groups to process steps

• adding and configuring business rules, or editing them

• defining the processing order of business rules

• adding a condition to a business rule

• adding a condition to a business rule group

• testing a business rule

You can also:

• display, sort, and filter business rule templates

• display, sort, and filter business rules

• update a business rule library

• delete a business rule library

• deactivating a business rule

• copy a business rule to specified fields

• copy business rules to other business rule groups

• debug business rule templates

• check business rule performance

• export business logic

• import business logic

Note: Your business rules are not used in your process unless the process contains a Business Logic process step before the respective Verification or Web Verification step(s) in your process. (Alternatively, select Validate root document on start in the Verification step.)
