Using rubberbanding

Note: This topic describes rubberbanding in Verification. Rubberbanding is also available in Web Verification and is described in the online help associated with that application.

This feature is available only for the page on which OCR is performed. To use this feature, the Read result for rubber band option must be selected in the Verification settings.

Use this procedure to adopt capture results from an image by using rubberbanding:

1. Select and open documents for editing.

2. Using Verification, in the Documents pane, select the appropriate document and then a field.

3. There are two ways to use rubberbanding in the image viewer:

   • Hold down the Shift key and click a word in the image to save the extracted data to the selected field.  

   • Use Shift, click and drag to outline an area and apply the value contained in it.

     • If Knowledge Processing is activated, the outlined area is displayed. The words contained in it are saved in the field.  

     • If Knowledge Processing is not activated, the area is snapped down to the words contained in it. Those words are saved in to the field.

This mode is indicated by the crosshair cursor (). 

Tips

• By default only full words are used. To change this, select Image > Character-based rubberbanding.

• You can press Ctrl+Alt and click in an image. If data was collected from that part of the image, it is highlighted in yellow and focus shifts to the corresponding part of the input form.

 

When you are done working in Verification, save the root document.
