Merge behavior

When various elements are merged when there are differences in the two projects, the destination project is overwritten with the values in the source project. This is true even if the changes in the source project are valid changes. The following elements have this behavior:

  • Recognition profiles

  • Image cleanup profiles

  • Global columns for tables

  • Dictionaries

  • Formatters

  • Databases

  • Table models

  • Validation Methods

To avoid losing settings, ensure that the destination project does not contain any configurations or settings needed by the project that are not accounted for in the source project.

Project Settings are not merged to the destination project if they are not needed. For example, if a database lookup button is configured to use a database in the source project, that database is merged to the destination project.
