Known issues
This topic contains information about potential issues that you may encounter while using Kofax eCopy ShareScan 6.4.0. Workarounds are included, as applicable.
RightFax connector profile configured with COM API does not work if secure TCP/IP communication is enabled on RightFax server
Secure TCP/IP communication is enabled by default on RightFax server 20.3 or later.
Workaround:
- Clear the Enable Secure TCP/IP Communication option on the General tab of the Server configuration dialog for the RightFax Server Module on RightFax server, or
- Configure and use the RightFax connector profile with REST API protocol.
PDF/UA documents’ Title property does not contain the file name
1583308, 1596197: In some cases, the Title property of PDF/UA documents contains a GUID instead of the file name when the document is a PDF/UA-2 document, or a PDF/UA-1 document is created with encryption and user and owner password.
Transaction data is not received by Equitrac 6
1540394: When ShareScan is sending the workflow transaction data through Cost Recovery v3.5 protocol, Equitrac 6 does not receive it. The ShareScan trace contains an "The HTTP request is unauthorized with client authentication scheme 'Anonymous'" error message.
Workaround:
- Enable the Upgrade mode setting of Equitrac Web client located under System Configuration > Global Configuration Settings > Network Environment > Domain Qualification, SMTP Mail and SNMP Configuration, or
- Upgrade to Equitrac 6.2 or later.
Troubleshooter tool: Some database functions not working
Database related functions (such as Remove unused manager data) for the ShareScan Troubleshooter tool do not work when using the ShareScan database with Windows integrated authentication. The issue occurs when the tool is run for a user who is an SQL administrator on the SQL server where the eCopy ShareScan database resides.
Workaround: Run the ShareScan Troubleshooter tool with the ShareScan Agent Windows service user, or a user who is not an SQL administrator. The latter should have the same permissions as the ShareScan Agent Windows service user on the SQL Server where the ShareScan Database resides.
Authentication may fail for iManage Worksite connector profile
1412123: If an iManage Worksite connector profile is configured with Trusted Login, the authentication and test in the ShareScan Administration Console may fail if the Worksite server is configured with enforced Kerberos authentication on Trusted Login.
Workaround: Create an Authentication Method DWORD registry value under the following registry hive:
Set its Value Data to 1 for:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Interwoven\WorkSite\Client\Common\Options]
Import the following registry file content and then set "Authentication Method"=dword:00000001:

TLS 1.2 protocol causes issues for some Ricoh devices
TLS 1.2 protocol causes issues for some Ricoh devices
T-6400: Some Ricoh devices with v6 client cannot be added/work with eCopy ShareScan when only TLS 1.2 protocol and more secure ciphers are enabled on operating system level.
Workaround: Enable TLS 1.0 and the following ciphers:
TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_128_CBC_SHA
TLS_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA
Recognition issue using Aspose barcode recognition engine
T-4882: When using the "Aspose Barcode for .NET" barcode recognition engine in the Image Control extender, the following barcodes are not recognized when the appropriate barcode type is selected:
- Australian Post eParcel barcodes when selecting the Australian Post eParcel
barcode type.
Workaround: Select Code 128 barcode type to recognize Australian Post eParcel barcodes.
- OPC barcodes when selecting the OPC barcode type.
Workaround: Select the Code 25 Interleaved barcode type to recognize OPC barcodes.
- PZN 7 bits barcodes.
Workaround: Select the Code 39 barcode type to recognize PZN 7 bits barcodes.
Different user used by Business Connect and ShareScan server
T-4859: If Business Connect server and eCopy ShareScan server are in different domains and two users have the same login name and password in these two domains, then Business Connect will be acting on behalf of the Business Connect domain's user. However, ShareScan will be acting on behalf of the ShareScan domain's user.
Workaround: Install Business Connect and eCopy ShareScan server in the same domain.
Unexpected password input behavior in Asian languages on Ricoh devices
T-2410: Using Asian languages with the Ricoh device native keyboard might result in the following unexpected behavior:
- An extra asterisk (*) may appear in the password field.
- Arabic numbers might be displayed without masking in the password field. Therefore, any Arabic numbers entered into a password field are transformed into Japanese symbols when Japanese Kana is set and you close the native keyboard.
