Changes in behavior
This section describes product behavior that is changed in Kofax Communications Manager 5.5.0.
Instantly open, edit, and save Word-based documents using modern browsers
KCM Designer automatically opens Microsoft Word-based documents in Microsoft Word when using modern browsers so that a user can continue working on the document. Modified or new content of the Word-based documents is automatically updated in the content management system after the user saves the document.
See KCM Designer Help for more information.
Following common conventions for command line executables
Single quotes are not supported to separate parameters for the installers. Use double quotes to separate characters.
Support for OpenJDK
Starting with this version of Kofax Communications Manager, customers no longer need to license Oracle JDK. Instead, free AdoptOpenJDK can be used, providing all required functionality. This helps to reduce total cost of ownership.
Features deprecated
ComposerUI for J2EE and ComposerUI for ASP.net are deprecated and will be removed in a subsequent release of KCM; instead, it is recommended that you use ComposerUI for HTML5.
