Define Text Block Styles

This topic explains how to define styles that you can apply to Text Blocks in your project.

These styles do not apply to Rich Text Blocks.

To define Text Block styles, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Corporate Design folder of a project.

  2. Edit the Text Block Style lists object. This invokes an editor at the bottom of the current window.

In the editor, you can add, edit, and delete Text Block Styles. You can also change the order of items in the list: this affects the order of styles displayed in the Text Block editor.

Add a Text Block Style

This section explains how to add a new Text Block Style to the list.

  1. In the editor, click the Add button.

  2. Specify the style's Name. It will be displayed in the drop-down in the toolbar of Text Block editor.

The name must be unique and its length should not exceed 64 characters.

  3. Specify the style's Description.

The description's length should not exceed 1024 characters.

  4. Specify the style's identifier. It is used to refer to the style from Style Sheets. The identifier should comply with the following requirements:

    • The identifier must be unique.

    • It should start with a character from A-Z or a-z and only contain alphanumerical characters or an underscore.

    • Its length should not exceed 32 characters.

  5. Save the changes. The new style will appear at the bottom of the list.

All new styles have the Active checkbox selected by default. When you want to stop using the style, deselect this checkbox before you remove all references to the style from the project and delete the style. Styles without the Active flag are still available during composition, but cannot be used when you create or edit Text Blocks.

Edit a Text Block Style

This section explains how to edit a Text Block Style.

  1. In the Text Block Style list, click the pencil icon next to the style that you want to edit.

  2. Change the style's name and description and select or deselect the Active checkbox.

You cannot change the style's unique identifier. The identifier can be edited only when you create a style.

  3. Save the changes.

Delete a Text Block Style

This section explains how to remove a Text Block Style from the list.

  1. In the Text Block Style list, click the trash can icon next to the style that you want to delete.

  2. Confirm your choice and save the changes.

When you delete a style, all references to it are not deleted automatically. Make sure to remove all references before you delete a style to avoid unexpected layout output.
