Create a business alert

Configure business alerts to notify you when the sum/count of an event reaches a specified value.

For example, a bank limits the total amount of weekly loan approvals. Configure an event to run every time a loan is approved. Linked to this, define an alert to trigger when the sum of approved loans reaches a specified value. For example, configure the alert to create a job that automatically sends an email to a bank manager.

  1. On the Business Monitoring menu, click Business Alerts.

    The Alerts page appears.

  2. Click Create Creates an item.

    The Alerts - Create page appears.

  3. Select a category from the Select Category list for the business alert.
  4. Enter a name and description in the respective boxes.
  5. In the Monitor Event group, do the following:
    1. Select a Category to filter events.
    2. Select a business Event.
    3. Select the Interval within which an event should be monitored from the following options; Hourly/ Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly/ Quarterly/ Yearly.
    4. Select the monitor Criteria either as Sum (count of the event) or Occurrences of the event which reaches the specified value.
    5. Select a Field Name for which to monitor events against an Alert value.
    6. Use the Operator to define the alert value.
  6. To specify a process on which to create a job when the sum/count of the event reaches the specified value, click Browse button and do the following for Create a Job Called:
    1. Select a category from the list to filter processes.
    2. Do either of the following:
      • Select Create New Process and enter a name for the new process.

      • Select Select Existing Process and select a process from the list.

    3. Click OK.

    When the specified conditions are met, a job is created.

  7. Click Save.

    The business alert is saved and appears on the Alerts page.

Maintain a business alert

  • To update a filter field, select the field from the Field Name list, make your changes and click Update.

  • To reset a filter field, select the Field Name from the field name list, and click Reset.

  • To update a business alert, select the alert, make your changes and click Save.

  • To delete a business alert, select the alert, click DeleteDeletes an item, and click Yes to confirm.
