Recognition engines are responsible for performing optical character recognition (OCR) on documents for classification and extraction purposes.

Installing Kofax Transformation Modules installs the following recognition engines automatically.

• Nuance OmniPage 22.0.0.3

• The Kofax Clarity recognition engine.

  A license for Kofax Clarity is required for testing in Project Builder and in production.

Customizing the Kofax Transformation Modules installation enables installing the following recognition engine that is licensed separately.

• FormXtra recognition engine by Parascript.

  A license for FormXtra is not required when testing in Project Builder but a license is needed when a project is in production.
